Partying Lean
Sheena Lakhotia will host a Leaving Lean Party at Pizzeria Amoroma 65 Moraga Way, Orinda on July 16 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. "It will be a casual mixer with our new restaurant partner," says Lakhotia, "attendees will enjoy a buffet of great living lean food, (grilled chicken and shrimp kabobs, ahi tuna salad, whole wheat vegetable pasta and a little wine."

Accounting Merger
Two long-established Bay Area accounting firms announced today that they will be merging. Smith, Lange & Phillips LLP and Daoro Zydel & Holland LLP will join forces on July 1, 2009 to become one of the largest, regionally-based accounting practices in the Bay Area. The new firm, which will operate under the name DZH Phillips LLP, is now comprised of ten partners, 70+ team members, and $12,000,000 in annual revenues. "This is a positive, exciting step for us," says Ryan M. Svoboda, a long-time Orinda resident who will assume the role of Managing Partner of the newly formed firm. Glenn Beaubelle

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, announced that Glenn Beaubelle, an agent in the company's Orinda office, ranked among the top agents in the U.S. for home sales last year in a new survey by The Wall Street Journal, lore magazine and REAL Trends. Moraga
- On June 23 the Moraga Chamber held a mixer at the Business School
Extension of Saint Mary's College (Rheem Center Campus) featuring
wine tasting Parkmon Vineyard. Over 100 members and their guests
chatted, enjoyed delicious appetizers from local stores and restaurants
and gazed at original oil paintings of Moraga artist Teresa Onoda. Dave
Parker, owner of Parkmon, shared a bit of wine growing history
surprising the audience with the fact that at one time the vineyards of
the Moraga Valley were some of the best in the world. He also said that
today there are 40 vineyards of all sizes within the Town limits. Along
with wine tasting, several representatives from St Mary's College spoke
at the gathering.

de las Flores.
Orinda
- On June 16th the Orinda Chamber held a mixer at the new Pizzeria
Amoroma. "It was a delightful evening of wine, laughter and
beautiful appetizers celebrating the Opening of Pizzeria Amoroma,"
said Candy Kattenburg, Chamber Executive Director, "although the
wine was complimentary Michele Lavecchia asked for a donation to
the community of Abruzzo, Italy, where a devastating earthquake hurt
the business and small farmers."
