Vice Grip Thrower Hits Target, 9/4/09 After becoming enraged by the victim's driving on St. Mary's Road, an unknown suspect proceeded to tailgate and pass the victim before hurling a pair of vice grips out of his window. The vice grips hit the victim's driver's side door and the victim managed to get the last three plate numbers of the assailant's vehicle. The victim does not know the suspect but would recognize him if he saw him again. It is possible the suspect is an accomplished discus thrower with a gripping passion.

Missing Bench, 9/4/09 A Happy Valley Road resident was paid a visit by the Bench Bandit. The crafty bandit approached the residence and removed a teakwood bench valued at $800. Perhaps he didn't make it to the Smith & Hawken closeout sale?

Juveniles Scramble Eggs, 9/4/09 Police were summoned to Happy Valley School to respond to an egging incident involving a car in the parking lot. Seven juveniles took responsibility for the egging. The owner did not press charges but wants the suspects to pay for damages to her car. The case is being handled through the Juvenile Diversion program. We hope the program will help the throwers learn that a plate is a more appropriate place to put an egg.

It's Always a Good Idea to Lock Your Car, 9/7/09 A Ridge Road resident forgot to lock her car. Guess what happened? A sharp-eyed and nimble-fingered thief spotted her purse in the backseat, opened the unlocked door and stole her purse. There are no suspects or witnesses although fingerprints were taken.
