The Marauders Scout Football team of Walnut Creek has a unique coaching staff this year. A member of the Super Bowl XI World Champion Oakland Raiders, Art Thoms, and two of his sons make up the coaching staff.
Lamorinda players included Jack Larsen, Mike Swenton and Dillan Thoms. Larsen stated, "This is my first year playing football and I have learned a lot from our coaches. I love playing football and it has been fun."
The younger Thoms stated, "It has been amazing to me how many Lamorinda parents and kids are not aware there is a local tackle football team." The Marauders practice at Acalanes High School in Lafayette three days a week with games on Saturday. The scout team is comprised of seven and eight year olds.
