Home Burglary, 10/20/09 A Pleasant Hill Road resident returned home and discovered a burglary in progress. A full-size dark green sedan with a faded hood and roof was parked in the driveway. A white male in his 30s was sitting in the driver's seat and pulled out when the victim arrived. The resident discovered the front door was ajar, entered the home and heard a female voice say "We have to get out of here." The victim went back outside and called police. The victim said the driver was wearing a light blue collared shirt and had short dark hair and a prominent chin. As he drove away, the victim heard the driver ask, "Isn't this Jessica Wilson's house?" The other suspects fled on foot. K-9 and helicopter searches proved unsuccessful and there are no leads at this time.
School Vandalism, 10/26/09 Burton Valley Elementary employees made an unpleasant Monday morning discovery. Unknown subjects entered two classrooms by kicking out the windows. A light fixture was pulled from the ceiling in one of the classrooms - a satisfying accomplishment, I'm sure. They also put glue into the locks of the earthquake emergency shed. There are no suspects or witnesses. The broken windows are valued at $300.
Computer Theft, 10/26/09 The Bentley School also made an unpleasant Monday morning discovery. Three unknown suspects jumped the back fence and used a metal chair to smash the back door of the science laboratory. They stole 4 Mac desktop computers from the lab. They then used a brick to smash the front door of the computer lab and stole 10 more Mac desktop computers. The Mac fanatics used a recycling bin to carry the computers back to the fence. They climbed over, discarded the bin and left the area. Prints, photos, casts and video were obtained and booked into evidence at the Lafayette Police Department. Maybe Burton Valley was a warm-up for these guys.
Dude, what's in the Bag? 10/28/09 Lafayette Police stopped a car for speeding on Isabella Lane and discovered the driver had a suspended license. A search of the driver led to the discovery of a bag of cocaine in his front left pocket. A second bag was discovered under the seat. The wild-eyed, jawing driver was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility for booking.
