The Moraga Police Officers Association (MPOA) is holding its annual "Stuffed Animals for Emergencies" drive. From Nov 23 to Dec 27, the MPOA is collecting new or gently used stuffed animals for S.A.F.E. (Stuffed Animals for Emergencies), which provides stuffed animals to police departments and other agencies to give to children who may be encountering traumatic situations. The drop off is in the Moraga Police Department lobby.
Bobbie and Tom Preston are doing the "Cycle Recycle", collecting repairable bikes for refurbishing by the inmates at Marsh Creek Detention Facility, for a few more days. The repaired bikes will be given at Christmas to under-privileged children throughout the county. Most needed are tricycles and junior bikes.. New and/or used, repairable bikes may be delivered to the side driveway of the Preston's home through the month of Nov only: 1307 Larch Avenue, Moraga. Through the Mission Market you can purchase your loved ones meaningful gifts that will support people in need in the Bay Area and around the world. For example, you can purchase necklaces made by women in the Dominican Republic or dinners for a homeless family at the Bay Area Rescue Mission. For each honorary gift you purchase, you'll receive a card to share with your friends and family letting them know a gift was given in their name.
