St. Perpetua School's 10th annual science fair was held on February 3rd and was hosted by the Jr. High students (grades 6-8). This hands-on exposition featured exhibits and experiments designed with the future scientist in mind. The excitement of science was brought to life with games as well as fingerprinting, chromatography, the Disney Movie "Earth" and the ever popular, slime! "Our goal is for the Junior High students to be able to showcase their efforts. This event provides opportunities for students to become personally and directly involved in scientific investigation. St. Perpetua School participates in the annual science fair for a variety of reasons: to stimulate student interest in science, to provide students with opportunities for research and active inquiry, to publicly recognize student's completed projects, and to provide students with opportunities to share their work," said Karen Goodshaw, St. Perpetua School Principal.

This is the first year six of the 7th and 8th graders will be representing St Perpetua School at the Oakland Diocese Science Fair on March 6th. They will be competing against approximately 100 other students from the diocese. The students who will go on to diocese are: Megan Bindi, Stefani Henderson, Sarah Downum, Peter Swan, Hayley Miller and Jordan Pittsey.

A panel of judges selected the top students from each class based on their presentations. They were:

8th grade: Megan Bindi,

Stefani Henderson, Sarah Downum, Peter Swan

7th grade: Hayley Miller, Jordan Pittsey, Grace Southwick

6th grade: Colin Fogarty, Bella Penza, Frances Haney, Cannon Armistead
