Clare Durant, 17, of Lafayette's Bentley School, won first place in varsity Impromptu Speaking at the prestigious Santa Clara University Dempsey-Cronin Speech and Debate Tournament in Santa Clara, CA. Durant is coached by National Forensic League double-diamond coach Bruce Jordan, one of the state's winning-est debate coaches.
