Saint Mary's baseball opened the 2012 season with a win in their new stadium. Louis Guisto Field was christened on February 17 with a 2-1 over Southern Utah.
The afternoon began with a pregame ceremony. Former baseball alums and donors were introduced by Board of Trustees member Russ Harrison. Father Sal Ragusa blessed the field. Recent WCC Hall of Fame Inductee, Tom Candiotti '79 threw the ceremonial first pitch.
Since opening day, the Gaels are 5-2 (as of 2/25). The Gaels return to action in the new field on March 6 against Stanford.
