| Moraga Police Officer Michael Dreyfuss led an exciting behind-the-scenes tour of the Police Department on Rheem Blvd. for cub scouts from Moraga Cub Scout Pack 54 Den 5 (and some of their younger siblings). While the boys enjoyed learning about all of the equipment Officer Dreyfuss carries on his uniform, the highlight of the trip was when the boys got to sit in the back of the patrol car. Officer Dreyfuss shut the door and casually asked the boys to "come on out." Den leaders watched them search for the door handles before figuring out they'd been duped -- there are no door handles in the back seat! The first-grade boys passed a requirement toward their Tiger Cub rank by learning about how police officers help people in our community. Officer Dreyfuss, a former Eagle Scout, was even invited to the Den's next Pinewood Derby Races to hand out speeding tickets to the winners. The Police Department's willingness to host these Cub Scouts demonstrated their commitment to the community and gained them several new fans (and responsible citizens).
