| Two Orinda Intermediate School students won medals in the Bay Cup fencing tournament in San Jose on Sunday, March 5, 2012. The Bay Cup is a series of tournaments held around the Bay area for fencers of all ages, and all weapons (epee, foil and saber.)
Atahan Kiliccote, a sixth grader at OIS, won a gold medal in the age 12 & Under Men's Epee tournament and a bronze medal in the ages 14 & Under (Y14) Men's epee tournament. Kiliccote has been fencing just under a year.
Gabriel Bronfman, a seventh grader at OIS, won the gold in the Y14 Men's Epee, and won a bronze in the Junior Division (under 19) tournament.
Bronfman has the highest point total and is the overall winner of the Bay Cup for Y14 Men's Epee 2011-2012 series.
