Don't skip town, 5/1/12 Police were on the lookout for a man who shoplifted from Safeway and fled on foot earlier that morning. They found a suspect matching his description at Orinda BART. Guess the guy's train didn't come in fast enough. A witness positively ID'd the fellow from a lineup. Research in to his background showed the character already was on felony probation and had a warrant for his arrest under "failure to comply." He was arrested, transported and booked into Martinez Detention Facility.
This might hurt...5/1/12 A 31-year-old male was arrested for driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and probation violation, due to an earlier DUI arrest. He showed objective signs of being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, refused a field sobriety test and was taken to the Orinda police department. There, he refused an Alcotest and a blood draw, and became combative. He struck his head against the wall and against a file cabinet several times; it took three police to physically restrain him. They transported him to the county detention facility and requested a "forced blood draw."
