Stopped on a dime, 6/11/12 A 50-year-old male stopped on Bryant Way who agreed to be searched was found to have a dime-sized tar-like substance in his wallet. It was tender, but it wasn't legal. Police suspected it was heroin...narcotic testing revealed it was indeed. The man was arrested and transported to the county jail for booking.
Liar, liar...6/11/12 A 34-year-old male within wandering distance of Orinda BART identified himself to police, but he didn't use his name. After agreeing to be searched, the subject was found to be carrying a stolen Social Security card and a forged public transit pass. There goes his ride home. But not to worry, the police were able to give him a ride...to jail... for being in possession of stolen property and giving a false ID. The real owner of the documents will prosecute.
Underage and under influence, 6/9/12 A 19-year-old male was stopped for speeding in the wee hours of the morning. Police suspected alcohol played a part in his fuelin' around. He subsequently failed the field sobriety test and was arrested and transported to Martinez Detention Facility where he was booked for Driving under the Influence.
