Connor Everton, a sophomore at Acalanes High School, competed in his first international competition. He participated in the Youth Pan American Championships for Rock Climbing in Santiago, Chile, Nov. 21-25. He received a gold medal for his age group for sport climbing, a bronze medal for bouldering, and a bronze medal for Overall Champion. Everton began climbing competitively on a team called Zero Gravity in the fall of 2010.
Becoming the Pan American Champion gives Everton an automatic berth to the Youth World Championship, which is currently the highest level of competition for youth climbing, for the next two years.
He recently finished first place in the Male Youth A category earning the title of Northern California/Nevada Regional Champion.
