| Girl Scout Troop 1561 member Kendal Taylor, a senior at Miramonte High School, has earned her Gold Award - the Girl Scouts' top honor. Taylor worked with Shelter Inc.'s Martinez emergency family shelter to design and repaint the interior common areas of the residence including a mural in the entry hall. In the fall, Taylor will be attending Vanderbilt University, where she intends continue her volunteer work for the homeless.
