The Lamorinda Soccer Club, the No. 1 ranked club team in the country, took on the Girl's Weekend of the Davis Legacy College Showcase July 10-12 and came away with another championship. LMSC's U17 Girls' team, United 98, breezed through their preliminary rounds, winning all three games and allowing only one goal. They posted wins against Albion OC White 1-0, Central California Soccer Alliance 2-0 and Santa Clara Sporting Green 3-1. In the semifinal, the girls pulled out a 2-1 win over the Galaxy Blues, sending them to the finals to take on the host team, Davis Legacy 99 Red - ranked No. 12 in the country. Stanford commits Caroline Clark (Acalanes) - the tournament's top scorer - and forward Cecilia Gee (Miramonte) scored first half goals, staking the girls a 2-0 lead. It was all the scoring they needed, as they held Davis scoreless. It was the second straight year United 98 took the championship in the tournament's top division.
