| | Photo courtesy of the Lamorinda Girls Development Academy | | | | | | Earlier this month, seven young women, members of Lamorinda's US Soccer Development Academy, signed National Letters of Intent to play soccer at Universities around the nation.
The players, who achieved high academic honors as well as proficiency on the soccer pitch include Ashley Holbrook, who will join the University of the Redlands team, Cate Combi, who joins Chapman University's roster, Charlotte Guillory, who will play for California State University at Long Beach, Elise Ziem, who will play for UC Santa Barbara, Holly Brown, one of Sonoma State University's newest recruits, Lauren McCulloch, who joins her teammate Elise at UC Santa Barbara, and Maddy Chavez who will play for UC Irvine.
The Lamorinda Soccer Club held the signing event at their indoor arena near the Rheem Theater in Moraga. Coach and club Technical Director Mohamed Mohamed praised the young athletes for their hard work and dedication to their club and sport. All the players compete in the U.S. Development Academy League, which is the highest competition for Youth Soccer in the nation.
