23rd Annual Fun Run kicks off 4th of July in Moraga

For the 23rd year in a row, Moraga began its Fourth of July festivities with the Annual Fun Run. Starting and finishing at the soon to open Canyon Club Brewery, the event attracted nearly 600 participants for its 400- and 800-meter Kiddie Runs and 2- and 5-mile races. Before the start of the races, Lleyton Allen (Campo '22) treated the crowd to a stirring rendition of the National Anthem. The 5-mile race was won by RJ Bloomer (Kensington) in 25:41 while Flora Lai from Houston, Texas won the women's race in 28:40. In the 2-mile race, the overall winner was Tilden Jackson (Oakland) in a time of 11:41. The top female finisher was Moraga's Eliza Roady in 13:42.
