Chainsaws were buzzing Feb. 27 in the Buckeye Ranch Trail area of Briones Regional Park as PG&E work to clear vegetation around a high-pressure gas transmission line, per the recommendations of a third party engineering firm hired last year, following residents' concerns about the safety of trees overhanging an exposed pipeline.
The work, which will also include vegetation in the Girl Scout Camp area, is anticipated to be complete by March 6. In total the utility company says it will be removing 13 trees and eight brush units.
