Terry Towers Witharm, born June 29, 1936 passed away Sept. 4, surrounded in love from his family. While Terry's wife, Nancy, met the Lord in 1989 Terry learned to keep living life, setting a magnificent example for others. Terry is survived by his sister Lilla Strauch, three children Jennifer Leiser, Elizabeth Witharm Robinson and William Witharm, and seven grandchildren Christine, Cory, Kelly, Ashlea, Chelsea, Helen and Rebecca and one great grandchild Kennedy.
Terry excelled at taking care of others and providing unconditional love and support to family and friends. He had a quirky sense of humor that brought rays of sunlight upon those around him. Raised by his parents in Oakland Theodore and Helen Witharm he had a great love of the outdoors and nature which began early in his life when sailing Clear Lake with his family. While walking on local beaches with family, fishing with friends or strolling on a walking path through Lamorinda he remained an active Lamorinda community member for over 50 years.
While fulfilling his career aspirations as an architect working for UC Berkeley at Lawrence Livermore Laboratory for 33 years Terry made many lifelong friends which he remained in contact with.
While Terry did not wish a memorial service upon his passing, we encourage you to celebrate his life in your own special way. Donations can be made to the nonprofit Parkinson.org or the American Cancer Society.
