Back-to-Back Champs
The Lamorinda United U13 boys repeated their success at the Walnut Creek Summerfest tournament on Aug. 23-24. The team won the tournament last year and finished as champions again this year.

Water Polo Top Honors
Ginny Vazquez-Azpiri and Ava Donleavy earned USA Water Polo 2014 Junior Olympic All-American first and second team honors, respectively. The girls compete on the 10U Lamorinda water polo team.

Karate Chop the Competition
Brothers Logan and Trevor Simpson returned from the Fiestas International Karate Championships in Los Angeles with trophies recognizing their top finishes. Logan took first in Kata and Kumite. Trevor took first place in his Kata division.

Magic Boys Win Tournament
The California Magic U11 boys' soccer team won the Walnut Creek Soccer Club's Summerfest Tournament championship in the gold division on Aug. 23-24. An exciting championship game was tied 2-2 after double overtime, but the Magic boys won on penalty kicks, 7-6.

A Growing List of Wins
The California Magic U15 girls added another championship to their growing list of summer tournament wins on Aug. 9-11. The team won the Mustang Stampede Tournament after playing five games in three days and finishing 4-1. The girls outscored opponents 18-5.
